Rather nice being back home in Ceret. Nice to be in one place, and one bed, not having to choose places to eat. It didn't take us long to slip back into our old ways - walks in the mornings, coffee at Pablo, simple meals and of course a bit of work. We've been out cepe (mushroom) hunting, but no luck at all. Perhaps the season this year was during the 5 weeks we were away. The weather has been remarkably cold. All the locals are muttering about the cold being early, but during the last few days it has warmed up considerably.
Most of our spare time has been spent organising the 3 weeks in Vietnam and Laos on our way back to Melbourne and New Zealand. There have been a fearsome number of bookings for visas, rooms, flights, trains and transfers. No wonder many people pay agents to do the work - they surely earn it. We only stuffed up one flight - booking the right date but the wrong month - but that was sorted very quickly and without cost. It's very nice to have it all finished. Our TripIt listing for this year is rather lengthy now!
On the cultural front (one must have a cultural front) we finally managed to get to the Jaume Plensa exhibition at the Ceret Museum. It was simply stunning. Not that many examples, but every one of them special and different. I particularly liked the humans sitting on soft rounded shapes, all assembled from cut-out letters from many cultures. It was amazingly serene. The exhibition was so good we'll make sure we have another visit before we leave.

Our next event was our trip to Marrakech. We'd always wanted to get there, me particularly even since School of Architecture days when lecturer Claude Megson went on and on about it. We'd seen super-cheap airfares - I think 9 Euros one way, so deciding to go there was a no-brainer.
